Numahachi (沼八 Numahachi) is a statue carver found in the Plantation.

Profile

Appearance

Numahachi's appearance resembles that of a Droll's, with similarly shaped hands, green clothing and a head that joins directly to the body, lacking a neck. Branches with green leaves stick out of Numahachi's head. In the remastered sprite, he has a green dot on the centre of his forehead. He is shown carrying a blue chisel.

Plot

In-game

The player's first and only encounter with Numahachi is in the Statue Chamber, accessed from the rightmost door of the Passage, which is located above the entrance to the Plantation. When Quote visits Numahachi before destroying the Undead Core, the statue carver will be seen in the process of shaping a block into the Doctor's likeness. A row of statues of the previous crown bearers are displayed and can be interacted with to reveal their names.

Numahachi's only line of dialogue when interacting with Quote is "..."

Upon defeating the Heavy Press, the player will be able to access the Statue Chamber. Numahachi is no longer present in the room at this point, but is shown to have completed the statue of the Doctor before evacuating.
